The City of Kadoma last week participated in the 2026 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), where it hosted Gender Links Zimbabwe and coordinated a joint exhibition of urban councils from Mashonaland West.

The exhibition, held under the theme “Service delivery driving connected economies and competitive industries,” brought together local authorities affiliated with the regional gender-focused organisation to highlight efforts to integrate gender considerations into urban governance and development.

Kadoma officials said the joint stand demonstrated how councils in the province are incorporating gender equality into service delivery, infrastructure development and local economic initiatives.

City communications manager Walter Ndlovu said the platform enabled participating councils to present a coordinated approach to inclusive development.

“This year’s participation brought together Gender Links-affiliated urban councils in Mashonaland West under one platform, demonstrating a collective commitment to inclusive service delivery and sustainable development,” Ndlovu said.

The city also used the event to market investment opportunities, including infrastructure projects, housing developments and other local economic initiatives.

Officials said these were aimed at promoting growth while expanding access to opportunities for women, youth and other groups.

Kadoma cited its location, available land and labour as some of the factors presented to potential investors during the exhibition.

Mayor Nigel Ruzario, town clerk Malvern Dondo and finance director Faustina Zhou were among municipal officials who visited the exhibition stand.

In addition, the City showcased products and services from local businesses, including members of the Kadoma Women’s Business Association, alongside private sector participants.

Officials said the participation formed part of broader efforts to position Kadoma as an emerging urban centre focused on inclusive and sustainable development.

The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair is an annual event that provides a platform for businesses, government and other stakeholders to promote trade and investment.
