Business networking and interaction among entrepreneurs are critical to improving service delivery and identifying new opportunities for growth, Khayalethu Garden Lodges manager Sharon Tazvivinga has said.
Tazvivinga said the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) Business After Hours meeting in Kwekwe provided businesses with an opportunity to engage directly with customers and other members of the business community.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the event, she said the interaction provided valuable feedback that could help businesses identify shortcomings and adjust their strategies.
“The ZNCC programme was a success for us because it allowed us to meet business people and get feedback from our customers and the business community,” Tazvivinga said.
She said the engagement also enabled businesses to exchange ideas and learn from each other, particularly as many business people were also customers of local service providers.
“We were able to see where we are making shortfalls. We were able to learn new things as well from the business people because they are our customers,” she said.
Tazvivinga said the feedback would help the lodge review its targets and refocus its operations.
“It allowed us again to reset our targets and reshift our focus. It was productive. It was indeed fruitful,” she said.
She also expressed satisfaction with the turnout at the event, saying attendance had exceeded the expectations of the organisers and participating businesses.
“We thought maybe it was going to be undersubscribed but we are happy with the outcome. We are happy with what we got. We are happy with the numbers, the turnout. It was a success,” Tazvivinga said.
