Tongogara FC has appointed coach Freddie “KAKA” Mudado as head coach, replacing Knowledge Muzerengi, who has been unwell since December 2025.

Mudado, who previously coached FC Motomoto in the Southern Region, takes charge of the Mbada Boys with a new technical team that includes assistants Nomatter Hazvinei Changunda and Sithembelenkosini “Master” Ncube.

Paul Tapfuma has been named goalkeepers’ coach, Charles Manyongori is the team manager, while former Black Rhinos player Romeo Alfa Shirichena joins as match analyst.

Speaking in an interview, Mudado said he is focused on building a competitive side.

“We have laid the groundwork and now we want to see results. The players have responded well, and we are working on improving all aspects of our game,” he said.

He added that pre-season preparations centred on fitness, team cohesion and tactical discipline.

Tongogara have also strengthened their squad with new signings, including Allan Dube, Paul Ngwenya, Munashe Nhete and Panashe Kwinjo.

Mudado said the new players have adapted well and increased competition for places.

The team’s attacking options include Willard Bembenene, Peace Mwanza, Michael Zimba and Maxwell Muzondo, with the coach expressing confidence in their ability to convert chances.

“Our forwards are expected to create and score goals. We are working on improving our efficiency in front of goal,” he said.

Mudado noted that defensive organisation remains an area of focus, with efforts being made to improve communication and reduce errors.

He also highlighted the role of younger players in the squad, saying they are contributing positively and are part of the club’s long-term plans.

After three matches, Tongogara FC has recorded one win and two draws, collecting five points.

Mudado said the team’s objective is to remain competitive throughout the season.

“We want consistency and to compete at a high level in every match,” he said.
