The Municipality of Redcliff says it is stepping up efforts to provide adequate housing for residents through in-house infrastructure development and partnerships with private land developers.
Speaking to journalists soon after a full council meeting, Municipality of Redcliff director of Housing and Community Services Admire Chigayo said council was committed to ensuring residents have access to serviced residential stands and decent housing.
Chigayo said the local authority was utilising its own resources and equipment to service stands while also engaging private developers to complement council initiatives.
“We provide enough and adequate housing to the residents of Redcliff,” he said.
“As a municipality, we are making efforts through our own in-house operations where we capitalise on our own equipment. We can service the stands and we are also entering into partnerships with private land developers so as to ensure that we provide enough and adequate housing to the people of our municipality.”
He said the partnerships were expected to help accelerate housing delivery in the town amid growing demand for residential accommodation.
Chigayo added that council remained focused on improving living conditions for residents through planned housing development and proper land servicing.
