Zibagwe Rural District Council Chief Executive Officer Farayi Desimond Machaya says the local authority recorded a budget performance rate of 57 percent in the first quarter.
Speaking during a ZRDC full council meeting he said a total of ZWG15.9 million was realised against a quarterly budget of ZWG27.8 million, resulting in a negative variance of about ZWG11.9 million.
He said that the annual budget performance currently stands at 14.3 percent, with quarterly collection efficiency at 32.37 percent and billing efficiency at 44 percent.
Machaya said the figures highlight the need to strengthen revenue collection while maintaining momentum in service delivery and development projects.
