Hardrock Football Club President, Shephard Chahwanda, has urged his players to remain focused and disciplined until their final Central Region Division One Soccer League fixture, despite their crucial 2–0 victory over Midlands State University (MSU) at Baghdad Stadium on Saturday.
The win virtually sealed Hardrock FC’s promotion to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) for the 2026 season, leaving them on the brink of being crowned champions. However, Chahwanda reminded the players that the journey was not yet complete, stressing the importance of maintaining concentration until the last whistle of the season.
“We are celebrating right now wearing Hardrock FC T-shirts, but according to the league regulations, the championship trophy will only be handed over after the final match,” said Chahwanda.
“The soccer season is not yet over. We still have one game remaining, which is a must-win. So don’t relax or think the job is done. We will continue with our training sessions as usual until we play our last match. After that, we will celebrate and start planning for the future.”
Hardrock will face Dulibadzimu FC in Beitbridge this coming weekend in what is expected to be a celebratory but competitive final fixture.
The club’s promotion marks a major milestone for the Kwekwe-based side, whose consistent form throughout the season has made them one of the standout teams in the Central Region Division One League.
If they complete their final assignment whatever the result, Hardrock FC will officially lift the CRSL Championship Trophy, marking their historic entry into Zimbabwe’s top-flight football.
