The crack team’s exceptional service: a model for law enforcement

Dear Editor

I am writing to express my deepest admiration for the exceptional work done by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), particularly the detective department Police in Mbizo, popularly known as “The Crack Team,” led by Chief Superintendent Ison Chapeta.

Their recent breakthrough in solving multiple cases of armed robbery and rape in Redcliff and Kwekwe, is truly commendable.

The term “Crack Team” aptly describes this group of highly skilled, efficient, and effective individuals who excel in their field. Characterized by their expertise, efficiency, dedication, collaboration, and results-oriented approach, the Crack Team is a shining example of excellence in law enforcement.

Their expertise in investigation and crime-solving is evident in the arrest of Mpandawana Masango (43) and Thandazani Moyo alias Faa, suspects linked to seven robbery cases, including a heinous robbery and rape case.

The team’s diligence and expertise led to the recovery of stolen cellphones and the suspects’ getaway car, a Honda Fit (ADU 9899).

Notably, the investigation was significantly aided by the use of cellphone tracking technology, which allowed the team to track the suspects’ movements from Kwekwe to Bulawayo.

This highlights the importance of individuals putting their phones on tracking mode, as it can greatly assist investigations and help bring perpetrators to justice.

The detectives’ swift action was impressive, tracking Masango after he was found using a stolen cellphone in Angelbert, Redcliff, leading to his arrest in Nkulumane 5, Bulawayo.

The collaboration between team members was evident in Masango’s arrest leading to Moyo’s implication and subsequent arrest in Western area, Bulawayo.

I am particularly impressed by The Crack Team’s ability to work tirelessly behind the scenes, often without recognition.

Their dedication to justice and community safety is truly appreciated, and it is essential that their efforts are acknowledged and celebrated. I hope that in the future, the names of the Crack Team members will be shared to recognize their individual contributions to this remarkable achievement.

The ZRP’s efforts to apprehend the suspects’ accomplice, Trust Mubvumbi, are ongoing. I urge anyone with information to contact the National Complaints Desk or report at any nearest Police Station.

By working together, we can ensure that justice is served and our communities are safer.

Once again, I would like to extend my sincerest compliments to Chief Superintendent Ison Chapeta and the entire Crack Team, CID Kwekwe.

Your exceptional service is a model for law enforcement agencies everywhere, and your commitment to justice and community safety is truly inspiring. You are making a significant difference in the lives of Zimbabweans, and your work deserves to be recognized and celebrated.

Sincerely,

Norman Mwale [The PenPusher] Mbizo Kwekwe.
