Preparations for the 14th edition of the Kwekwe Expo are at an advanced stage, with organisers confident of attracting increased participation this year.

In an interview with The Public Eye, Expo manager Howard Masaninga said the exhibition, which will run from 2 to 4 October 2025, will for the first time be hosted at Kwekwe Queens Sports Club instead of the traditional National Mining Museum venue.

“This year our theme is embracing artificial intelligence for sustainable economic development. We are targeting sole traders, small to medium enterprises, and large corporates, and we are confident that exhibitor numbers will be higher,” Masaninga said.

He said between 60 and 80 exhibitors are expected, with confirmations coming in daily.

“We had to give space to the National Development Strategy Goal Number One Expo, which was held in August, to avoid clashing, but now our invitations are rolling out,” he added.

Masaninga also announced that the Kwekwe Expo has become an affiliate of the Zimbabwe National Show Society.

Traditional exhibitors including ZESA, ZIMRA, National Parks, Zinwa and NASA have indicated interest in participating, with others still finalising stand commitments.

“Every year we attract new exhibitors, which shows the growing impact of the Expo as a marketing window for the city. The event has also drawn participants from outside Kwekwe, a positive development for our local economy,” he said.

The Expo, which began in 2010, has expanded over the years to include mining and agriculture, alongside commerce and industry. Last year, NASA showcased a goat breeding project, and organisers are engaging more farmers to participate in this year’s edition.

Masaninga said the event continues to provide a platform for trade, business networking and investment promotion, while bringing high-profile figures to officiate.
