Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Owen Ncube says the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) Fun Shoot held at 5 Infantry Brigade, Ngezi Barracks, in Kwekwe raised sufficient resources to support the institution’s mess.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the fundraising shooting competition, Ncube said the initiative was aimed at mobilising resources to improve the facilities and operations of the officers’ mess.
“We are here in the Midlands Province for the fundraising shooting competition. This event is for the officers here to raise funds to capacitate their mess,” he said.
Ncube said he was pleased that the fundraising initiative had generated sufficient resources for the institution and reiterated the province’s support for the country’s defence forces.
“However, we are happy that we’ve raised enough resources for this institution and their mess. We support our defence forces for their cause in the province,” he said.
The fun shoot brought participants together to raise funds for the officers’ mess, although the amount raised and the specific improvements planned for the facility were not disclosed.
