The Minister of Energy and Power Development and Member of Parliament for Redcliff, July Moyo, has urged local authorities to develop comprehensive emergency response plans.
Speaking during the commissioning of a fire tender for the Municipality of Redcliff by Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Owen Ncube, he stressed the importance of pooling resources to improve disaster preparedness.
“Local authorities must take the initiative to create emergency response strategies to safeguard our communities,” he said.
“It is crucial that corporates come together to enhance our capacity to respond to disasters,” he added.
