The Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Owen Ncube has urged ZANU PF youths to use social media platforms to defend the ruling party.
Speaking during a handover of 60 Samsung Galaxy mobile phones to the ZANU PF youth leadership in Kwekwe District at the party offices in Kwekwe he said the youth must share the truth on social media platforms how the government’s efforts to curb smuggling through porous borders have impacted on businesses.
“Social media is being used as a destructive tool by our enemies to divide communities and propagate negative narratives against our party and government.
“With these gadgets we are handing out today to our youths, we must hunt the enemies down aggressively until victory is achieved,” he said.
He urged the youth to actively counteract the domination of negative narratives perpetuated by critics of government initiatives and developments.
“Our youths are of great importance in every war, we have to remain vigilant and ensure that we defend our motherland Zimbabwe,” he added.
He stressed the need for the youth to challenge the negative narratives spread by detractors of the revolutionary party, asserting their role in promoting a positive image of the government’s efforts.
