The City of Kadoma says it will begin clamping vehicles operating at Rimuka Bus Terminus without proof of payment of ranking fees from 1 Jul2026, as part of measures to enforce its transport by-laws
Town clerk Malvern Dondo said the enforcement exercise would be carried out in terms of the City of Kadoma (Clamping and Tow-away) By-laws of 2009.
Under the new arrangements, all transport operators using Rimuka Bus Terminus will be required to pay ranking fees. Payments can be made to City Parking personnel at the terminus or through the Rates Hall at the Rimuka Administration Office.
The council said transport operators who frequently use the terminus may make advance payments to obtain exemption discs, which will serve as proof of payment.
According to the notice, vehicles found operating within the terminus without a valid ranking disc will be clamped until the applicable penalties and fees have been paid. The enforcement exercise will be conducted throughout the day and night.
Speaking on the new measures, Kadoma mayor Cllr Nigel Ruzario said the initiative was intended to improve compliance and the management of the bus terminus.
“We are committed to creating a clean, organised and efficiently managed public transport system. These measures are meant to ensure fairness, accountability and proper management of Rimuka Bus Terminus,” he said.
He added that revenue collected through the fees would be used to maintain and improve the facility and urged transport operators to comply with the new requirements to avoid penalties.
The council said the revised fees include US$150 per month for cross-border buses, US$5 per day for overnight parking, US$5 per entry for local buses, US$3 per day for small and medium-sized trucks, and US$2 per entry for taxis and other light motor vehicles.
The City of Kadoma said the measures form part of its efforts to improve the management of public transport facilities within the municipality.
