Residents of Kwekwe are expected to access High Court services locally within the next three months as construction of a new court complex nears completion, Judicial Service Commission (JSC) Secretary Dr Walter Chikwana has said.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the launch of Phase 4.4 of the Integrated Electronic Case Management System (IECMS) at Kwekwe Magistrates’ Court, Dr Chikwana said finishing works are now underway at the new judicial complex.
“I can confirm that the High Court is coming to Kwekwe. The complex is now complete and we are doing the finishings, including tiling, installing furniture and preparing the building for occupation,” he said.
Dr Chikwana said the new complex will accommodate the High Court, Magistrates’ Court and the Sheriff of the High Court’s offices, bringing key judicial services closer to residents of Kwekwe and surrounding districts.
He said the facility is expected to be ready for use within the next three months.
