Dream Inn BnB and Gold Metal Investments (GMI) have announced the launch of the inaugural 2026 ZIFA Central Region Soccer League (CRSL) Super 8 Challenge Cup, with the official launch and draw set for Saturday in Kwekwe.
According to a press release issued by the Dream Inn and Gold Metal Investments Communications Department, the knockout tournament will feature the top eight teams on the 2026 Central Region Soccer League mid-season standings.
The launch and draw ceremony will determine the quarter-final fixtures ahead of the competition, which organisers say is aimed at promoting football development in the region.
GMI director Shepherd “Magodora” Chahwanda said the sponsorship reflected the company’s commitment to supporting football in Zimbabwe.
“This sponsorship marks an important milestone for Gold Metal Investments and Dream Inn as we deepen our commitment to the development of football in Zimbabwe. We recognise the immense talent within the Central Region and believe that investing in the game is an investment in our communities, our youth and the future of the sport,” said Chahwanda.
He said the tournament would provide clubs with an opportunity to showcase their talent while encouraging the growth of the sport.
“The 2026 Dream Inn–GMI Super 8 Challenge Cup will provide a competitive platform for clubs to showcase their quality while inspiring the next generation of footballers. We are proud to partner with the ZIFA Central Region Soccer League in delivering a tournament that celebrates excellence, promotes healthy competition and creates lasting value for all stakeholders,” he said.
Chahwanda added that the company would continue supporting initiatives that contribute to community development through sport.
The tournament will be played in a knockout format consisting of quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final.
Organisers said the competition is expected to attract interest from football fans, corporate partners and other stakeholders. The final will be played at Chahwanda Stadium in Kwekwe, with the date to be announced.
