The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has fined Hardrock FC and Dynamos FC US$10,000 each after its Disciplinary Committee found both clubs guilty of offences linked to the abandonment of their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 14 fixture at Chahwanda Stadium on 24 May.

In a disciplinary judgment released on Wednesday, the PSL said both clubs were found guilty of causing the abandonment of the match, pitch invasion, acts of violence, improper conduct and disrupting the normal proceedings of the game.

The league also ruled that the remaining minutes of the abandoned fixture will be played behind closed doors at a neutral venue under PSL protocols.

Hardrock FC was fined US$10,000, with US$2,000 of the penalty suspended for the remainder of the season on condition that the club is not convicted of a similar offence. The club was also ordered to stage one home match behind closed doors and submit a revised Match Security Management Plan to the PSL Chief Executive Officer within 30 days.

The PSL further found that Hardrock FC, as the home team, failed to provide adequate security during the match.

Dynamos FC was also fined US$10,000 after the Disciplinary Committee found the club guilty of the same offences. In addition, Dynamos was found guilty of malicious damage to the perimeter fence at Chahwanda Stadium.

The Harare giants were directed to submit a formal crowd management and stewarding plan to the PSL Chief Executive Officer within 30 days. The club must also submit a written report after each away fixture for the remainder of the season confirming the measures taken to manage its travelling supporters.

The disciplinary ruling also sanctioned Hardrock FC Chief Executive Officer Kudzanai Hove, who was found guilty of disorderly conduct, pitch invasion and violent behaviour.

Hove was suspended from all football-related activities for the remainder of the 2026 season and fined US$5,000.

The sanctions follow crowd trouble that led to the abandonment of the league match between the two clubs at Chahwanda Stadium in May.
