ZANU-PF Midlands Provincial Deputy Secretary for Economic Development, Langton Mashoko Jerera, has called on party affiliates to prioritise and support the country’s economic development.

Speaking at the launch of the Workers Izisebenzi Vashandi for Economic Development (WIV4ED) in Kwekwe, Jerera said organised structures within the party have a role to play in safeguarding national development gains.

“The establishment of ZANU-PF affiliates was not only for economic development but also to defend our gains as an organised entity and nation,” he said.

Jerera emphasised the importance of unity and organisation in advancing economic goals, adding that awareness of the country’s liberation history remains key to sustaining its development trajectory.

“Our children must know the country’s revolutionary history. This is why we have the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology,” he said.

WIV4ED National Chairperson Delah Chinosengwa said the organisation is open to workers across different sectors.

“As a ZANU-PF affiliate, our membership is open to all workers regardless of where one is employed,” she said.

The launch event brought together party members and affiliates, with organisers saying the initiative aims to mobilise workers to contribute to national economic development.
